Brief project description:
Audio Visual Centre of CTU students o.s. (AVC CTU) is one of the most successful projects of Students Union on Czech Technical University. AVC CTU broadcasts online and offers free downloads of video-lectures, reports from cultural events and other interesting actions.
Who are we?
Project members of AVC CTU
In fact, the group of students interested in audiovisual and streaming technologies. We run around a school or other places behunged with cameras, microphones, notebooks and other stuff. After all that we spent our evenings behind the computer by postprocessing all the collected material.
History
The project arisen in 2003 and the first record was the visit of the president of the Czech Republic at the CTU. The idea to establish the AVC originate from organizers of the OpenWeekend Michal Medvecky and Rudolf Marek who wanted to record whole conference, but didn't find anybody capable to do it. With the first chief Jakub Svitek the AVC spread and become an unique and dynamic project. The present chief is Jiri Ryszawy, the chief of avc.art section is Radek Novotny, the chief of postporcessing section is Petr Vacek and the HR coordinator is Martin Endrizal.
During the spring of 2007 the revolution happened, the project team forked of the official project and traded the equipment and inferiority to Silicon Hill for the freedom of creation and free will. Therefore we are now begining to collect resources once again.
Resources
All students participate on the project free of charge in their leisure time. Financial resources for the technical equipment was granted by the club Silicon Hill and the Students Union on CTU until 2007. External resources would be greatly welcomed. The project further cooperate with CESNET, which provides streaming servers free of charge for us. As of 2007 we are rebuilding our studio and seeking equipment for the future activities as stand-alone project.
Future
For the future, others quality improvements of the records are planned. The project will participate on new projects like the online broadcasting of the Korfball Championships (www.korfball.tv). The use and development of new technologies and techniques is also scheduled.
